The blinding pain slams me around, flips me over. I land hard on my back. Mechanically, like a clockwork doll, I grab my arm. It's bleeding. Another explosion, this one further away, and another hail of bullets. I skitter backwards. I look and see my battalion racing forwards, fanning out through...

She's 22 and I'm 23, by the way. When Tim arrived, he looked exactly like I remembered him. Leather jacket,...

sip or mixed in another drink and the recipient was taken over by
uncontrollable lust. Yea, right. But it was the latest craze

fad of the month fluff piece.

A gay charity in the London district of Greenwich has scolded a local newspaper for publishing a reader's homophobic letter - and then awarding it a star prize.
The News Shopper felt the scorn of gay readers and bloggers after it printed correspondence by a Mrs Fitzsimons who refers to gay people as being “perverted” and goes on to say that “there is no equality today due to everything being biased towards homosexuality”.
In the rant, which was named the 'star letter', she also suggests that adverts for gay, lesbian and bisexual clubs promote “perversity”.
Now, gay support group Metro Centre has demanded an explanation and apology from the paper, describing their editorial judgement in this instance as "appalling".
Marguerite McLaughlin, CEO of the Metro Centre, wrote saying: "The letter from Mrs. S. Fitzsimons is a hate-filled rant against lesbians, gay men and bisexual people.
"Is it your intention to cause distress to your gay readers who have read this attack in your newspaper? Mrs. Fitzsimons actually uses the word perverts. Do you feel that some of your readers deserve more respect than others do?
"Please advise me, would you be likely to award a prize to someone who wrote you a hate-filled letter attacking Christians or any other faith group? Would you award a prize for a letter that blatantly attacked older people or disabled people for that matter? In the eyes of the law gay people merit no less respect or proper treatment."
McLaughlin told website Greenwich.co.uk that she has ordered all of the charity’s advertising with the newspaper to be suspended until a satisfactory explanation has been provided by the paper’s editor.
Currently, the News Shopper insists that the decision to print and award the letter was not an endorsement of its content.
